For those churches or ministries out there that aren’t quite ready to take a full fledged dive into the video ministry arena, there are some simpler and cheaper ways to get started.
Two of these ways will be mentioned in this discussion. Both are free (assuming you have a computer and a camera already) and what’s more is that both of them can be broadcasted with using either a Mac or a PC.
The first service is a long time player in the live streaming business, Ustream. Ustream is currently used by one of our churches in New Hampshire. The next service actually just started in its beta form at the start of February, 2008, Yahoo! Live.
Now I was going to write out a great tutorial for each of these services, but then I realized that each of them already has a great “Getting Started” page filled with pictures. So it would kinda be a waste of my time to write one myself.
To get to their “Getting Started” page, just click on the logo for the service of your choice. At the moment, I am kinda leaning towards the Yahoo! Live service because of the look and features that it gives you. Do keep in mind that it is a beta service and could still have bugs to work out. But give them both a try out as they are both free to use.
